Format for SSV Secondary Golf Events
The event has two competition levels (division and state).
All students will compete in only one 18-hole division event.
Students will then be selected to progress to the 18-hole state final, based on score and field size.
The event includes changes to the Rules of Golf outlined in the general information sheet. Where there is inconsistency between the Rules of Golf. and those set out in the general information sheet, the modified rules will prevail.
The following competitions shall be played at all the state finals:-
Junior State
Boys (Year 7-Year 9 students) & Girls (Year 7-Year 9 students)
Senior State
Boys (Years 10 – 12 Students) & Girls (Year 10 – 12 students)
Students that are selected to play in the state final will be notified of their progression.
In the event of a tie in each of the categories the Golf Australia count-back system, shall be used to determine finals positions. If scores are still tied, then positions will be awarded to the tied players.
Eligibility
Students must be enrolled in grades 7,8,9,10,11 or 12 in a School Sport Victoria full or associated member school. In order to compete, Students must have, and be able to produce evidence of a Golf Australia golf handicap.
Entries
Entries for the division events close with Golf Australia 5 days before the advertised date or when a capacity field has been reached. Entries are taken online at the Golf Australia website. Entries will be accepted on a receipt of entry basis. Players trying to enter a full fielded event will be directed to play at another venue.
Students are only allowed to compete in one division event.
